Triple Falls

Erebus is the middle fall in Triple Falls in Randolph, New Hampshire. The trail from the road is short and steep. The waterfalls come quickly enough. The view from the trail is easy enough. Getting into the gorge requires a bit of scrambling, not a big deal if you are a confident scrambler.
Townline Brook slides over the bedrock for a few dozen feet, then plunges into the gorge, hitting a sloped bank of polished bedrock at the base.

The falls slide over the Littleton Formation, a gneissic bedrock.

This can be quite photogenic. Long shutter speeds will yield good results, so a tripod is indispensible. Lighting is a possible issue on a sunny day, so try to shoot late in the day, or in overcast conditions. A polarizing filter will cut the glare on the rocks. A warming filter is a matter of personal preference, but I find the colors here to be a little warm. 28-80mm of focal length will be more than adequate to capture this waterfall.

There is a small turnout on the Pinkham B Road also known as the Dolly Copp Road about 1.5 miles south of Route 2. Follow the trail upstream to the falls.
