The free leaping upper drop

Details:

Lady Wilson Falls is a small watercourse falling off the west flank of Mount Wilson. After making a free leaping plunge that firehoses well away from the cliff face, the waters drop through a narrow twisting gorge, emerging to make a few final leaps into the brushy slopes below.

Photography Notes:

The series of falls is well exposed, facing west. A wide angle will be needed to capture the entire series, and telephoto will be needed for isolations of the upper portions of the falls. You should be able to capture everything with 28-105mm and 75-300mm lenses. As always, have your polarizer and tripod.

Directions:

The falls are clearly visible from the Icefields Parkway 9 km north of Saskatchewan Crossing and the intersection of the David Thompson Highway.
