The old postcard shows the falls with more water than any other photo I've seen. Moxie Stream leaps over an 89 or 90' plunge, depending on the source. Personally, based on photos of the main drop with people in the shot, I'd suggest 60' is a much more reasonable figure. Based on all the photos I've seen of Moxie Falls, the initial plunge drops into a deep black pool. There is a 15-20' cascade below that which at the outlet of the pool. I've heard mentions of at least two more drops below. Moxie Falls, even though it's way out in the middle of nowhere, has been one of my top Maine targets for several years. Take Route 201 roughly 60 miles north of Waterville, to the town called "The Forks." Turn right on Lake Moxie Road (that's what the Maine Gazetteer says, although Mapquest says, "Moxie Falls Road." After about 2 miles, you'll see a parking lot on the left. Follow the trail to the falls.
