The falls slide down a ledge of the Gile Mountain Formation, a devonian era schist.

Directions:

Take I-89 to Exit 1. Go south on Route 4 for about 1.5 miles. Turn right on Quechee Main Road. Follow this road into the village of Quechee. The falls are in the center of town, just upstream of the River Street bridge.
