Details:

Appalachian Cascades haven't appeared on maps since the 1940 edition of the AMC Mountain Guide. The falls were supposedly along the New River above the Gulf of Slides ski trail. The New River itself seems to peter out at the 4200' contour, but several tributaries seem to be falling down the cliffs above the trail.
